Frank A. Zabrosky papers. 1969-1987.

The material in this collection pertains to the teaching activities performed by Frank A. Zabrosky, unless otherwise noted. In particular, the collection contains material gathered over the course of the approximately fourteen years (1973-1987) during which he taught the course "Seminar on the Management of Modern Archives and Manuscripts" in the School of Library and Information Science at the University of Pittsburgh. The material can be divided into three broad topics: lecture materials, administrative and student papers, and readings and information. The primary document type found in the collection is copies of articles and handouts used by Zabrosky for his class. Some of the articles were kept in their original folders, as the folders contain some physical evidence as to the use of these documents. In addition, one group of documents, although related to his class, comprise a personal file. These documents relate to a Seminar on the Management of Modern Archives that Zabrosky attended in 1969, prior to teaching his seminar at the University of Pittsburgh. A few of the folders in the collection have access restrictions, due to student information contained therein, and can not be viewed by the general public. This collection, overall, provides a good overview of archival education during the decades of the 1970s and 1980s.
